There Are Only TWO Surefire
Success Techniques To Make Certain You Hit Your Target Every Time.
If you want to shoot an arrow
right into the bulls-eye there are just two infallible methods.
The first is to be a crack-shot. This needs lots of work,
effort, practice, patience, persistence, and talent. The
second technique is to shoot first and then move your target to
where the arrow lands.
My sneaky idea is this > Use both
methods.
Our governments do it all the time so it must be
OK. Just look at the moving targets for inflation, interest
rates, employment or whatever.
How This Killer Technique Will Help You
It doesn’t matter why you exercise.
In fact, all of us usually have more than one aim. For example,
we might want one or more of these:
- to get fit,
- to stay fit,
- to be healthy,
- to lose weight,
|
- to be slim,
- to look great,
- to feel great,
- to live longer.
|
The killer thing to realise is that moving the target
is the killer way to succeed in any or all of
these. The snag is there’s a killer way to fail too.
So, here are a few do’s and don’ts.
How To Kill Success
A real success-killer is to go through your exercise
workout in a token or half-hearted manner. You
might think that this is good enough because it’s more than
you did before.
But YOU WILL FAIL with this approach.

Review for a devastating criticism of the
use of machines in fitness.

Why You Will Fail
Because by doing the same old stuff week after week
in a cursory manner you make it into a mere routine. You
make it humdrum. You then find that first one then another
and then all of these will happen:
- boredom will set in,
- your routine doesn’t do you much good,
- you won’t see any progress,
- you don’t make any progress,
- you quit.
In other words, sooner or later, the inevitable
result is that you abandon your routine because it’s both
boring and not working. Hey presto! You just failed!
In truth, boredom and lack of success seem to me
to be fair reasons to quit. But not quit as in quit.
Only quit doing it in a way that’s sure to fail.
To put it another way, make sure you workout smarter
so you get the results you want. Otherwise, you’ll
be bored out of your pants in no time and end up quitting.
How Do You Workout Smarter?
Easy …
You need to plan ahead just a little. By this
I mean you should list your main aims for your next 3 or 4 workouts
over the next week or so. Do this a week or two in advance.
The Fitnessblasting Manual gives you
a great example of this.
List your targets for your main exercises in a way
that each workout-target extends you a little further than the
previous one. Do this for three or four workouts in advance
with targets that push you further each time.
Now, don’t be stupid about this. Remember,
it’s a cinch by the inch - but it’s hard by
the yard. Don’t lose sight of the fact that
your aim is to get fit or get healthy
or look better (or whatever), not kill yourself.
In any case, no one goes from couch potato to world champ after
4 workouts.
Bet you knew that, didn’t you?
Beating Your Target
What this method does is to give each workout
session a clear purpose, a clear aim, a goal, a target,
a destination.
You are now no longer marking time but on a route
to your destination. This step-by-step approach keeps you
moving ahead, making progress and getting better. This means
that you will:
- extend and adjust your targets as you get fitter,
- beat your targets (you’ll see),
- re-adjust your targets as you beat them.
In other words, you are now on the amazing Self-Improvement-Super-Highway
as your constant adjustment and readjustment of targets extends
you further.
What Does This Do For You?
You’re now working with a method and your
method is working for you. The killer is that the method
of moving targets puts the escalation of fitness gains at its
core. It becomes impossible to fail.
In short, it transforms a routine and cursory just-going-through-the-motions
type of approach into a process where you really will:
- make more progress,
- make faster progress,
- become fitter,
- get slimmer,
- lose weight,
- feel better,
- look better.
And best of all,
So, keep moving those targets!
